THE MJ COMPANIES EXPANDS COLORADO RISK MANAGEMENT + COMMERCIAL INSURANCE CAPABILITIES WITH JENNIFER FRIESEN APPOINTMENT

Industry veteran joins as vice president, client experience, strengthening the firm’s investment in property and casualty leadership, talent and strategic client service 

DENVER (September 1, 2026) – The MJ Companies, a leading business and financial services consulting firm serving clients for more than 60 years, is continuing its investment in and expansion of its risk management and commercial insurance capabilities in Colorado with the appointment of Jennifer Friesen as vice president, client experience. Based in the firm’s Colorado office, Friesen will provide strategic leadership to risk management clients while helping advance the firm’s continued investment in its Colorado market capabilities, client experience, and talent.  

With more than 20 years of commercial property and casualty experience, Friesen brings deep expertise in complex casualty, risk management, client strategy, and team leadership. In her new role, she will serve as senior advisor to clients, helping organizations navigate complex risk decisions and develop strategies aligned with their broader business and financial objectives. Friesen also will lead the growth and development of the risk management + commercial insurance client experience team, strengthen market and carrier relationships, and collaborate across The MJ Companies to connect clients with specialized resources and expertise.

Prior to joining The MJ Companies, Friesen served as vice president and account executive with Brown & Brown Insurance Services in Denver, where she led service and strategic planning for complex transportation and trucking accounts. She developed customized risk management strategies, advised clients on risk retention and alternative program structures, led carrier negotiations, and coordinated claims advocacy and loss control resources. 

Earlier in her career, Friesen served as property and casualty team leader at Hays Company/Brown & Brown Insurance Services, leading a property and casualty service team and overseeing team development, carrier relationships, operational improvement, and client retention and growth initiatives. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for building strong client relationships, developing talent, improving service delivery, and helping clients address increasingly complex risk environments.

Friesen earned a Master of Arts in communication from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts in communication from the University of Colorado Denver.
