CARMEL, IND. – The MJ Companies, a leading business and financial services firm for more than 60 years, has donated $15,000 to support flood relief efforts across central Indiana after the historic flooding that displaced families and damaged homes and businesses throughout the area in August. As part of this donation, The MJ Foundation is granting $7,500 to the Indianapolis Foundation’s Marion County Flood Relief Fund and $7,500 to the Hamilton County Community Foundation’s Hamilton County Flood Relief Fund, which are providing shelter, supplies, and recovery assistance to impacted families. Throughout September, MJ will also encourage its associates to contribute to flood relief efforts.  

“Giving back to the community is at the core of MJ’s purpose and we are proud to support the boots-on-the-ground organizations dedicated to providing relief for flood victims in Indiana,” said Britni Shrout, Executive Director of The MJ Foundation. “The devastation that occurred will continue to impact families in our community and it’s important to our organization that we remain committed to locking arms with our neighbors in need.” 

The primary objective of the MJ Foundation is to make a positive impact on local communities. Every year, the foundation allocates funds raised to local organizations awarding grants that align with the four cornerstones of its mission: overcoming poverty, advancing education, fostering diversity, and embracing humanity. 

In 2025, the MJ Foundation donated more than $300,000 to local community organizations in the states where MJ has a physical presence: Indiana, Colorado, Tennessee and Arizona. The Foundation supported more than 66 organizations across these four states and MJ employees collectively volunteered more than 2,400 hours of their time.
