INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 12, 2026) – The MJ Charitable Foundation (the MJ Foundation), has awarded grants to nonprofits in the Indianapolis, Phoenix, Denver and Nashville communities for its 2025 grant cycle. The MJ Foundation is the nonprofit arm of leading financial services firm, The MJ Companies.
The MJ Foundation awarded $25,000 grants to Indy Hygiene Hub (Indianapolis), Hope Women’s Center (Phoenix), Dress for Success Denver (Denver), Team Chad (Nashville). This year MJ Foundation also awarded honorable mention grants at $5,000 to Student of Impact Westfield (Indianapolis), The Joy Bus Diner (Phoenix), GlobalMindEd (Denver) and Pathways Kitchen (Nashville).
Each of these nonprofits address unique needs in their local communities and were selected in part for their alignment with the four cornerstones of the MJ Foundation mission: overcoming poverty, fostering diversity, advancing education, and embracing humanity.
“This year represents a milestone for the MJ Foundation as we awarded our highest level of grant funding since the program began over three years ago and reflects the MJ Foundation’s deepening commitment to community impact,” said Britini Shrout, executive director of the MJ Foundation. “We are inspired by this year’s recipients, and our shared purpose to be an intentional, active force for good. We are eager to see how this support will elevate their missions and strengthen our communities.”
This grant cycle featured the largest applicant pool to date, with more than 50 nonprofits considered. The grant process is invitation-only, and each of the invited nonprofits are organizations where MJ associates choose to volunteer their time.
In addition to the MJ Foundation’s grants, The MJ Companies associates also participated in the Foundation’s Month of Giving campaign, which featured a Triple Match Day. Through these efforts, the organization and its associates raised over $60,000 for its 2025-2027 Charities of Choice, Indy Reads (Indianapolis), Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels (Phoenix), We Don’t Waste (Denver) and UpRise Nashville (Nashville). The nonprofits each received $15,000.
“The MJ Foundation Month of Giving is designed to meet our associates where they are during the holiday season and provide a variety of opportunities to give back,” said Shrout. “From service activities to donation drives to Triple Match Day, there is an opportunity for everyone to give back in the most meaningful way.”
This year each MJ office held a donation drive to support Prevail, Inc., an organization close to the heart of an MJ associate who passed away this year.
