MUCH MORE THAN AN OUTFIT

HOW DRESS FOR SUCCESS DENVER TRANSFORMS WOMEN’S LIVES

“Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.” This adage seems straightforward, but it’s pretty marginalizing when you think about it. Clothing is a privilege. While some can go out and “dress for the job they want,” many individuals cannot. Dress for Success Denver aims to change this for women. Beyond just providing apparel and accessories, its programs give women confidence and the knowledge that they can actively define their lives, their direction, and what success means to them.

BREAKING THE CYCLE OF POVERTY FOR DENVER WOMEN

The mission of Dress for Success® is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help women thrive at work and in life. It goes far beyond an outfit. Dress for Success Denver gives women the tools to obtain safer and better futures.

Our confidence or sense of self-worth often depends on our outward physical appearance. Because of Dress for Success’ commitment to inspiring confidence and courage in women, it provides clothing that instills confidence during the job search process. It even takes it one step further and provides job coaching and leadership training so Denver women can look their best and feel the best with their skills.

SUCCESSFUL PROGRAMMING

Dress for Success Denver’s impact is undeniable, as they have transformed the lives of over 19,000 women since their inception. Their programs go beyond just dressing for success. Program examples include:

  • Professional Suiting: Dress for Success Denver provides each client with professional attire to secure employment. But it’s not just about the clothes; it’s about instilling confidence and a sense of self-worth that lasts a lifetime.
  • Career Coaching: Women receive personalized coaching from trained volunteers, including feedback on resumes, cover letters, and mock interviews. This valuable support boosts their chances of landing their dream jobs.
  • Going Places Network (GPN): A program dedicated to job readiness, GPN equips women with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the workforce. The program’s success is evident, with 79% of graduates securing employment.
  • Professional Women’s Group (PWG): For job retention and career growth, PWG offers support, information, and inspiration to help women build professional networks and achieve their career aspirations.

FOUNDATION ALIGNMENT

When we opened our Denver, CO office in April of 2022, we did so in the hope that we would make an impact on our future clients, partners, associates, and those in the Denver community. We are honored to be able to highlight an organization in Denver that aligns so closely with the four pillars of the MJ Foundation. From overcoming poverty to fostering diversity, Dress for Success Denver is an admirable organization, and we encourage all to get involved with their local Dress for Success chapter.
