INDIANAPOLIS (May 14, 2024) – The MJ Foundation, the charitable arm of leading financial services firm: The MJ Companies, has released its 2023 annual Impact Report highlighting its efforts and community contributions from the previous year. The report showcases a year of growth in community impact for the Foundation with over $125,000 being donated to non-profits throughout Phoenix, Indianapolis, and Denver.
“The magnitude of our achievements in 2023 is a testament to the power of unity and shared purpose,” said Michael H. Bill, CEO of The MJ Companies and Founder of the MJ Foundation. “From completing our first grant cycle to naming three new Charities of Choice, our Foundation reached new heights and grew our impact—I feel so fortunate to lead an organization that puts community at the forefront.”
The Foundation’s first-ever grant cycle awarded grants to three non-profits in the Indianapolis, Phoenix and Denver communities, including Indy Book Project (Ind.), Kitchen on the Street (Ariz.) and Teaching the Autism Community Trades (TACT) (Colo.).
In addition to grant-making and facilitating community service projects for its associates, every two years, The MJ Companies chooses three charitable organizations across the communities where associates live and work to focus time and resources. In 2023 the Foundation selected three new charities of choice: Dayspring Center (Ind.), Women’s Bean Project (Colo.), and The Centers for Habilitation (Ariz.) to serve from 2023-2025.
In 2023, the MJ Foundation raised more than $100,000 from its annual fundraiser. These funds will be used to award grants and support local organizations in alignment with the four cornerstones of the MJ Foundation mission: overcoming poverty, advancing education, fostering diversity, and embracing humanity.
“We couldn’t do it without the support of our partners, sponsors, and donors who made this possible,” said MJ Foundation Executive Director Britni Shrout. “Our MJ Foundation committee members and volunteers are truly amazing.”
The MJ Foundation will be hosting its fourth annual fundraiser this July as well as launching its grant application process for the 2024 calendar year.
