NASHVILLE (Jan. 26, 2026) – The MJ Charitable Foundation (the MJ Foundation) has made major gifts to three Nashville nonprofits as part of its 2025 grant cycle and through its Month of Giving campaign. The MJ Foundation is the nonprofit arm of leading financial services firm, The MJ Companies.
The foundation awarded a $25,000 grant to Team Chad, an organization that supports Tennessee cancer patients and their families, and an honorable mention grant of $5,000 to Pathways Kitchen, a restaurant and culinary industry job training program for youth who are exiting from correctional facilities.
In addition to the MJ Foundation’s grants, The MJ Companies associates also participated in the Foundation’s Month of Giving campaign, which featured a Triple Match Day. Through these efforts, the organization and its associates raised more than $60,000 for its 2025-2027 Charities of Choice, including $15,000 for UpRise Nashville. As the Nashville Charity of Choice, UpRise will also receive a $5,000 grant from the MJ Foundation for each year of its participation ($10,000 total), a Day of Service with The MJ Companies’ associates, and awareness and media exposure.
“We are proud to give back to deserving organizations in Nashville,” said Austin Madison, Market President – Tennessee. “Though our office has only been opened since May 2025, we look forward to deepening our commitment to the Nashville community as we grow our presence across the Midstate.”
All of the nonprofits that the MJ Foundation supports across the country address unique needs in their local communities and are selected in part for their alignment with the four cornerstones of the MJ Foundation’s mission: overcoming poverty, fostering diversity, advancing education, and embracing humanity.
“This year represents a milestone for the MJ Foundation as we awarded our highest level of grant funding since the program began over three years ago and reflects the MJ Foundation’s deepening commitment to community impact,” said Britni Shrout, executive director of the MJ Foundation. “We are inspired by this year’s recipients and by our shared purpose to be intentional, active forces for good. We are eager to see how this support will elevate their missions and strengthen the Nashville community.”
This grant cycle featured the largest applicant pool to date, with more than 50 nonprofits considered nationwide. The grant process is invitation-only, and each of the invited nonprofits is an organization that MJ associates already support by volunteering their time and talents.
“The MJ Foundation Month of Giving is designed to meet our associates where they are during the holiday season and provide a variety of opportunities to give back,” said Shrout. “From service activities to donation drives to Triple Match Day, there is an opportunity for everyone to give back in the most meaningful way.”
This year each MJ office held a donation drive to support Prevail, Inc., an organization close to the heart of an MJ associate who passed away this year.
