INDIANAPOLIS (July 27, 2023) – The MJ Companies, a leading risk management and employee benefits agency for nearly 60 years, successfully hosted its annual MJ Foundation fundraiser last week at the renowned Brickyard Crossing golf course in Indianapolis. The event brought together over 100 industry partners, employees and friends, and raised over $100,000 through a fun filled golf scramble.  

The primary objective of the MJ Foundation is to make a positive impact on local communities. To this end, The MJ Foundation will allocate the funds raised to award grants to local organizations that align with its mission’s four cornerstones: overcoming poverty, advancing education, fostering diversity and embracing humanity. At the event, Foundation leadership announced that the first grant cycle will begin in August 2023. As part of this commitment, The Foundation pledged to award three grants, one in each of their local markets this year.  

“We established the MJ Foundation as a way to live our purpose consciously and deliberately – providing support to organizations in our communities that are doing important work,” said Michael H. Bill, CEO of The MJ Companies and founder of the MJ Foundation. “I am honored to say that we are not only meeting the expectations we set for ourselves but exceeding them. I am humbled by what we’ve accomplished thus far, and I can’t wait to see our impact grow.” 

The MJ Foundation has donated more than $75,000 to local organizations that align with its core focus areas. This year alone, the Foundation committed a generous $750,000 to establish the MJ Risk Management & Insurance Scholarship, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to supporting local initiatives.
